- 4 salmon fillets (6 ounces each), skin on or off based on preference
- Salt and freshly ground black pepper, to taste
- 1 tablespoon olive oil or vegetable oil
- ½ cup sweet chili sauce
- 2 tablespoons low-sodium soy sauce
- 1 tablespoon honey or maple syrup
- 1 clove garlic, minced
- 1 teaspoon freshly grated ginger
- ½ teaspoon rice vinegar or lime juice
- Optional: pinch of red pepper flakes for added heat
Instructions
- In a small bowl, whisk together sweet chili sauce, soy sauce, honey, garlic, ginger, rice vinegar, and red pepper flakes if using. Set aside.
- Pat salmon fillets dry and season both sides with salt and pepper.
- Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat until shimmering.
- Place salmon skin-side down if skin-on; cook 4-5 minutes without moving.
- Flip fillets and cook 2-3 minutes until opaque and flakes easily.
- Lower heat to medium-low and pour glaze over salmon. Spoon continuously for 1-2 minutes to thicken and coat.
- Remove from heat, plate salmon, and spoon remaining glaze on top.

- Dry salmon before seasoning for crisp crust.
- Use skin-on fillets for extra texture and moisture.
- For baking, brush glaze on salmon and broil last 2 minutes to caramelize.
