  • 8 cups filtered water, divided
  • 1/2 to 3/4 cup granulated sugar (adjust to taste)
  • 12 tablespoons freshly squeezed lime juice
  • Ice cubes, for serving

Instructions

  1. Bring 4 cups of water to a boil in a medium pot.
  2. Remove from heat and add the dried hibiscus flowers to the hot water.
  3. Let steep for 15 minutes until the water turns deep red and aromatic.
  4. Strain the liquid into a large pitcher, discarding the flowers.
  5. Add the remaining 4 cups of cold water to dilute the concentrate.
  6. Stir in sugar until fully dissolved and adjust sweetness as desired.
  7. Add fresh lime juice for brightness and citrus flavor.
  8. Refrigerate for at least 1 hour to chill.
  9. Serve over ice and garnish with mint or lime slices if desired.
