Description
A refreshing summer cocktail blending frozen watermelon, tequila, lime, and triple sec into a smooth, icy margarita.
Ingredients
Scale
- 4 cups seedless watermelon, cubed and frozen
- 2 ounces silver tequila
- 1 ounce fresh lime juice (about 1–2 limes)
- 1 ounce triple sec or orange liqueur
- 1 tablespoon agave nectar or honey (optional, for extra sweetness)
- Ice cubes (about 1 cup, adjust for texture)
- Coarse salt or chili-lime seasoning (for rimming glasses)
- Fresh lime wedges and watermelon slices (for garnish)
Instructions
- Place the frozen watermelon cubes in a high-powered blender.
- Add silver tequila, fresh lime juice, triple sec, and agave nectar to the blender.
- Add about one cup of ice cubes, adjusting for your preferred thickness.
- Blend on high speed until smooth and creamy, with no large chunks remaining.
- Rim glasses by rubbing a lime wedge around the edge and dipping into coarse salt or chili-lime seasoning.
- Pour the margarita into prepared glasses and garnish with lime wedge and watermelon slice.
- Serve immediately while icy and chilled.
Notes
- Freeze watermelon well in advance for ideal texture.
- Use a powerful blender to avoid gritty chunks.
- Add agave nectar if watermelon is not sweet enough.
- Do not over-add ice to prevent dilution.
- Use fresh lime juice for best flavor.
- Traditional rimming uses coarse salt, but chili-lime seasoning adds smoky heat.
- Try reposado tequila for oak flavor or add jalapeño for spice.
- To make non-alcoholic, omit tequila and use sparkling water or citrus soda.
